Odd combination, huh?
It started off yesterday with exciting news from of my band friends. Him and his band are playing the South Texas Rock Festival in San Antionio this July. Of course, they’re playing for 1 hour on only one of the days. They invited me and my sister to come, but there’s a catch: We have to pay for the tickets and find a way down there. I can deal with the tickets. That’s not the hard part. But as I calculated the miles and trip down there, I realized something. The money needed for gas will cost more than the tickets themselves! Knowing that gas prices will be on the rise within the next 2 months, it’s looking like I won’t be able to go… I guess it’s just something that has to be done in order to live the next week…

Last night as I leafed through the rockabillia.com catalog, I was reminded of a song I had listened to earlier that day. Well, a couple of songs. One was definitely old metal, i.e. Slayer. One was of the new metal, i.e. Korn. I definitely saw a difference in the music that one that cannot differentiate the sounds must be deaf.
Now, I’m a lover of all sorts of metal music. I listen to Dio while also enjoying Lamb of God. But lately I have noticed that bands like Paramore are now being called “metal”. In no way is this a bashing post. It is merely my opinion on what metal is and what metal isn’t. Back to Paramore. Paramore is NOT metal, by any standards. Just because they throw up the metal horns, and have a female lead singer doesn’t mean they are metal. They are alternative.
Another band, Cute is What We Aim For, is again another band that shouldn’t be classified as metal. They are Emo/Punk/Indie and that’s how they were first thought of when the came out.
Listen to Slayer, Gwar, Opeth, or Dimmu Borgir and tell me Paramore and Cute Is What We Aim For are metal.

This past weekend, a sound filled my ears. I was listening to this internet metal radio show called XXXTreme Full Throttle Radio, when they played a song that immediately caught my attention. It was a song penned by Halford, Priest’s lead singer. I asked the DJ “Who is this and what song is this?”. She said it was Priest’s new song “NOSTRADAMUS” from their first album in 14 years. Giddy, I logged onto JudasPriest.com to find out the more exciting news I have heard since the stimulus check thingy!
JUDAS PRIEST ROAR BACK WITH AN INSTANT EPIC, ‘NOSTRADAMUS’ ON MULTIPLE CLASSIC FORMATS & A WORLD TOUR
That was the main headline under the “Nostradamus” News Release. World tour? Double CD set? Wow, I cannot wait to get it! Then I wondered something. When the hell is this coming out?? Luckily the website had the schedule posted! It is as follows:
Columbia Records on Monday, June 16th in the UK/Europe
Epic Records on Tuesday, June 17th in the US.
Oh goodie!! I cannot wait!
For more information on this epic new album and the world tour, go to http://judaspriest.com/nostradamus/default.asp

This isn’t spam. I can promise you that much!
I am happy that I am a moderator. But where? I knew you would ask! Well, to be honest, I’m glad you asked!
A couple of months ago, my twin (yes I have a twin sister) created what is known as the Pure Metalheads United forum (or PMU). We talk about music, life, politics, and whatever else floats our boat. We occasionally hold contests, and have links to contests other places are having.
We don’t have a lot of members… YET!! We’re working on it, and if you enjoy metal (music, can’t stress that enough), please join us!

We would sure appreciate it!
